Departments at ABSMARI

ABSMARI aims to create an immersive learning environment for the students to promote a higher degree of understanding and concept building, in sync with today's modern technology being used around the globe for advancements in the physiotherapy ecosystem. We promote quality research outputs from both the faculty & students along with collaborative tie-ups worldwide for which incentives and recognition is provided from our R&D department.

High-End Infra for Advanced Research

Department of Neuro-physiotherapy

Neuro-physiotherapy helps to understand and treat the patients who have a neurological disorder. As the neurological injuries are very delicate, neurotically patients need special care during their rehabilitation. It provides an opportunity for the candidates to gain more knowledge about this field and excel more in their careers.

Students will learn the special techniques like NDT, MRP, PNF, Rood’s technique etc with our special technologies which not only help them to treat patients clinically but also will help them to contribute more towards research.

Department of Musculoskeletal & Sports Physiotherapy

Innovative technologies are used by the department of musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy to carry out evidence-based assessments and treatment for a variety of orthopaedic diseases and sports injuries, both acute and chronic. These incorporate models of decision-making and clinical reasoning for functional disability. After a thorough evaluation, students are taught to develop sports-specific treatment procedures and formulate plans for returning to sports. Additionally, students are exposed to a variety of regional, national, and worldwide sporting events where they develop their clinical assessment and decision-making abilities.
The main activities of graduate students include writing and publishing.

Department of
Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy

Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy helps impart clinical skills and knowledge needed for helping patients recover from cardiopulmonary disorders.  Fitness evaluation and training is the other focus area of this department.

In hospital, Inpatient Cardio Pulmonary Department has an essential role in restoring function in patients requiring critical care by using conservative, non-invasive approaches. It provides specialized care with the view of ultimately returning individuals suffering from cardiac or respiratory conditions to a healthy and productive life.

Department of
Electrotherapy & Electrodiagnosis

Electrotherapy is useful for treating a variety of acute illnesses, including those that are orthopaedic, sports-related, neurological, or cardio-pulmonary. For the goal of training students in electrotherapy, ABSMARI has a cutting-edge electrotherapy lab with all types of equipment, from basic to advanced. Before they are sent into the clinical setting, students receive rigorous training here.

Additionally, the students receive instruction in a variety of electrodiagnosis techniques, such as the SD-Curve, FG test, Evoked potentials, EMG, and NCV.

Department of
Movement Sciences

The department is focused on  movement patterns and alleviation of  pain by improving the efficiency and biomechanical alignment of the joints and muscles of the human body.

The department has a sophisticated lab with equipment ranging from the basic steps and ramps to free weights (dumbbells, kettlebells, Medicine balls, Swiss balls, bench press, etc.) to the latest and advanced imported technologies like Lode treadmill, recumbent bicycle ergometry systems, Body metrics, Hi-low couches, etc. which can be used to assess and treat individuals with postural and movement defects.

Department of
Biomechanics

Biomechanics encompasses the study of mechanical aspects of a human body movement and function. ABSMARI is among India’s rare institutions equipped with expertise in ergonomics and movement sciences. Students in this program receive training in diverse areas like movement analysis, gait analysis, and sports rehabilitation.

Graduates with a master’s degree in Biomechanics within the field of physiotherapy can explore various career opportunities, including physiotherapy rehabilitation, sports biomechanics, orthopaedic diagnosis and management, and research and development, among others.
